"I've been a musician all of my live and one of the things that I've always wanted to do is to ba able to sing very well but I always felt very limited because my normal speaking voice is a baritone and I could never seem to be able to hit a note higher than about E above middle C and have it sound halfway decent. A little bit about my background - I've been a musician but my profession is post production audio. I've done a lot of work over the years with different people. One of my biggest clients was James Cameron and I was fortunate enough to win an Emmy award for sound editing on a project I did with him. I started one week ago (training) with Thomas. That very first day I hit in full voice a high E thanks to the techniques that Thomas showed me and it was not hard. I actually was able to do it very easily and realize that this is an octave above the E that I previously had to really strain to hit. Now it's been one week. So I went onto the internet and was screening through amazon.com all the books-vocal instruction with CD added. So I ordered all these books- quite so many books that I got, and of course I got your book as well. I sent back all of the books but yours. And it was very easy to understand for me. This was the only book actually that made sense to me including the CDs and the examples that you have there - it made sense to me. I could understand what is happening - the way that you explain the vocal cords and how they are somehow working. That was really nice. It's the only book that has this explanation... There was this one sentence in your book which was important to me which said, 'It's possible to do it all by yourself, but it's almost impossible...' And that's why I just called you, and you called me back and here I am. If I had not done the work before... if I did not have the book, then probably it would not have been that fast within the three weeks what we did. I'm sure you have students that are faster than I was at getting to the HIGH C - by the way I did it once so it's okay... But understanding the whole process was really important to me back in Austria. But now facing you and you looking at me and telling me, "That's the way you have to do it." That helped a lot. When I came here I think I could sing comfortably to a middle C. I would strain with a D. I could not really use it in songs. After practicing with you two hours per day for now - three weeks I think I can pretty comfortably hit the G above middle C...." Thomas: "Before you read the book, if someone had told you that just by doing a few simple exercises you could extend your range by 6 or 7 notes would you have believed them?" Christos: "No. No way." Thomas: "And yet you're a medical doctor..." Christos: (laughs) "Yes I am. I thought if you have a low voice like mine with really thick cords you can not do anything about it... I thought that's it, that's you. You've got to accept it the way it is and that's fine. Try to work with the range you have." Thomas: "One thing that the book does, is it gets your belief level up so that you know it can be done and once it's proven to you that it's possible that unlocks this whole thing of ' Well maybe I can do it too.' Yes it does, and after reading the book and especially the way you were telling it in the book that you yourself had this problem. that your range wasn't much better than mine and that you can do it and I have the vocal examples on the CDs with you singing... you get the feeling 'Well it should be possible.' I know that I have a long way to go, but I will get there."

"Before training with Thomas I was a bass in the choir and had a range similar to what you would expect from a bass. It used to be difficult to sing notes above middle C. I remember being able to sing E above middle C, maybe F or F# on a good day. There was no doubt that hitting that F# was something I had to strain for much of the time, and a lot of music that I really enjoyed was just unreachable for me.
I was a little skeptical at first because there's a lot of material similar to this that one can find, but Thomas' material went through the physics and the physiology in a way that made sense. I could tell by the way it was written that this material was put together by a vocal coach that really knew what they were doing. When I read Thomas' book it was very clear to me that he had an understanding of the physics involved and that was why it was so powerful. In terms of singing a high C, that came in the first half hour of training.
